Shah Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi and His Timeless Praise of the Prophet ﷺ

Shah Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) was a great scholar and Sufi of the Mughal era known for his love and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. His famous couplet beautifully expresses the Prophet’s ﷺ unmatched beauty and honor:

یا صاحب الجمال و یا سید البشر
من وجہک المنیر لقد نور القمر
لا یمکن الثناء کما کان حقہ
بعد از خدا بزرگ توئی قصہ مختصر

 

Translation (انگریزی ترجمہ):

O possessor of beauty, O leader of mankind,
From your radiant face, the moon has drawn its light.
It is impossible to praise you as you truly deserve,
In short, after God, you are the greatest.

 

Explanation (تشریح):
These verses declare the Prophet ﷺ as the light of creation, whose beauty outshines everything in existence. Shah Abdul Haq expresses that words cannot describe his perfection and that after Allah Almighty, there is none greater than the Prophet ﷺ. This couplet remains a symbol of deep love and reverence in Islamic tradition.
