O friend, in friendship we are your true companions.
Wherever you step, we become the ground beneath your feet.
How could it ever be right, in the way of love,
To see you in all the world, yet never see your face?

Ay Doûst, be-doûstî qarînîm tô râ,
har jâ ke qadam nahî zamînîm tô râ.
Dar mazhab-e Âsheqî ravâ key bâshad,
Âlam tô bebînîm -û- na-bînîm tô râ.

در مذهب عاشقی روا کی باشد

Rumi’s verses above speaks about deep spiritual friendship and devotion. It expresses the idea that true love and loyalty mean being completely united with the beloved—seeing them everywhere and in everything, yet longing for a direct connection that feels just out of reach.
