Allama Iqbal asking Rumi:

Though the marketplace of existence appears dull,
In which transaction do true men ever incur a loss?

Mevlana Rumi’s response

Sell cleverness and buy bewilderment;
Cleverness is mere suspicion, while wonder is true seeing.

مُریدِ ہندی
گرچہ بے رونق ہے بازارِ وجود
کون سے سودے میں ہے مَرْدوں کا سُود؟

زیرکی بفروش و حیرانی بخر
زيرکی ظن است و حيرانی نظر

Urdu transliteration 

مُریدِ ہندی
اگرچہ زندگی کی منڈی بے رونق لگتی ہے،
مگر سچے انسان کس سودے میں نقصان اٹھاتے ہیں؟

پير رومی
چالاکی چھوڑ دو اور حیرت اختیار کرو،
چالاکی گمان ہے اور حیرت اصل نظر (بصیرت) ہے
