Uwais el-Qami and his Visitor: Sufi Story
Uwais el-Qami, the Sufi, had a visitor, who came to seek God.
‘Do you seek God? If so, why have you come to me?’, asked Uwais.
The visitors only thought that they sought God. Their presence and emanations gave them away.
‘If you do not seek God’, continued Uwais, ‘what business have you with me?’
Because they were intellectuals, logicians and emotionalists, they could not understand the Sufi.
