The relationship of endless love and reverence between Hazrat Nizamuddin Awliya and Amir Khusrow has been expressed in so many different Qawwali by artists across the world. It was a beautiful bond of respect between Pir and Murshid, and the verses by Hazrat Amir Khusrow has immortalized it forever.
Hazrat Amir Khsrow was born in Patiali. His father was also mureed of Khwaja Nizamuddin Awliya. When his father took him to Hazrat Nizamuddin Awliya for the first time, he refused to be forced for bayaah and wrote a verse that if Murshid knows what is in the heart of Mureed, he will call himself.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Awliya, with his spiritual prowess, read the hear of Hazrat Amir Khusrow and sent for him to be called. Hereafter, Hazrat Ameer developed the spirtual connection with hie mentor, which remains until his last breath.
